B.C.’s Scott back in winning form

For Kelly Scott and her B.C. squad, it was an opportunity to overcome a disappointing loss Tuesday night to Team Canada – partly due to a picked rock in the tenth end – and climb closer to the leaders in the standings. For PEI’s Suzanne Birt, it was an opportunity to extend the winning streak that started in Draw 5 after three losses to start the round robin.

 
Team Canada, Ontario and Manitoba stay on top after Draw 7

At the start of Draw 7, four undefeated teams sat at the top of the standings. When the rocks came to rest, there were only three, thanks to Suzanne Birt’s surging P.E.I. team, who earned a decisive 12-7 victory over Saskatchewan’s Jill Shumay in Monday night action at the K-Rock Centre in Kingston.

Both Suzanne Birt of Prince Edward Island and Stacie Devereaux of Newfoundland and Labrador came into the fifth draw of the Scotties Tournament of Hearts round robin still looking for a win.
