The first rock will slide down the ice January 12th in the Langley Events Centre, marking the start of the 2012 World Financial Group Continental Cup of Curling – one of the most entertaining events in international curling.
Saskatoon is getting ready to host the 2012 Tim Hortons Brier, March 3 – 11 in Credit Union Centre, marking the sixth time the city has welcomed the Canadian men’s curling championship. But this year “5” may be the lucky number for fans.
The 2011 Capital One Canada Cup of Curling rocks the Rockies November 30 – December 4 in Cranbrook… and the first Season of Champions event of the year gets off to a roaring start on the eve of the competition.
While the competition is always centre-stage at Season of Champions events, the fans often share the limelight with the best players in the game. And there’s none that stand out more than the infamous “Sponge Girls”.
The excitement of the 2011 Capital One Canada Cup carries on long after the last rock has been thrown in the Cranbrook Rec Plex. That’s when everyone heads straight for the Patch to keep the celebration of championship curling roaring late into the night!
