Team Ontario will have a short trip to the Canadian Women’s Curling Championship this year with Kingston playing host to the 2013 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, February 16-24 in the K-Rock Centre.
The volunteers for the 2013 Scotties Tournament of Hearts were on hand in Brockville September 13-16 for one of the first major events of the new curling season, making sure all the fans are aware the Canadian Women’s Curling Championship will be contested in Kingston this February.
It was supposed to be another coronation for Rachel Homan at the 2012 Ontario women’s curling championship in Kenora, but Tracy Horgan and her team from Sudbury had other ideas.
Imagine, growing up in a curling family, where your life-long dream is to play in the Scotties Tournament of Hearts Canadian Womens Curling Championships. Since age 5, each winter is spent at the curling club, learning the craft that finally one day sends you and your team to the dream-come-true with a win of the Scotties provincial championship. This is exactly what has happened to Tracy Horgan from Sudbury Ontario.
Suddenly, it’s a real horse-race. With seven teams operating within a game of one another at the top of the Scotties Tournament Of Hearts heap.
