Most curling clubs are guided by a Board of Directors. If you’re new to curling or you’ve been a member for only a few years, you might feel you don’t have anything to offer the Board. This couldn’t be further from the truth.
They’ve been curling in Collingwood since 1881, thanks in great part to the enthusiasm and hard work of its volunteers since those early days.
The Season of Champions returns to Lethbridge in 2012 as the city hosts the Ford World Women’s Curling Championship. And based on the interest being generated in the community, event organizers are expecting another roaring success.
The untiring effort of a virtual army of volunteers is the secret to the success of every Season of Champions event. In the case of the 2012 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Halga and Dave Phillips are among the most dedicated of the troops.
The Tim Hortons Brier will be contested March 3 – 11, 2012 in Saskatoon’s Credit Union Centre and local volunteers are making it clear they’re committed to ensuring the city stages another outstanding championship.
