In this week’s edition, we’ll turn our attention to junior curling in the northern part of our country – Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
As the 2012 Tim Hortons Brier wore on in Saskatoon in early March, two storylines became apparent.
The top four men’s teams from Canada’s North gathered at the Whitehorse Curling Club over the extended weekend of February 9 – 12 to determine who would earn the right to wear Territorial colours at the 2012 Tim Hortons Brier.
They’ve been mining gold in Dawson City, Yukon, since the 1890s, and they’ve been curling in Dawson for at least that long.
Kerry Galusha successfully defended her title as Territorial champion by claiming the Northwest Territories women’s play downs at the Inuvik Curling Club over the weekend of January 12-15.
