Prince Edward Island wins Canadian Mixed

Prince Edward Island, skipped by Robert Campbell of Charlottetown, captured the Canadian Mixed Curling Championship Saturday in Morris, defeating Manitoba in a squeaker, 4-3.

 

Manitoba, skipped by Terry McNamee of Hamiota, has advanced to this afternoon’s final of the Canadian Mixed Curling Championship to face Prince Edward Island, after thumping Nova Scotia, 8-3 in Saturday morning’s semi-final.

 

Manitoba, skipped by Terry McNamee of Hamiota, scored a popular 7-6 win over Ontario Friday evening in a second tiebreaker to advance to Saturday’s semi-final of the Canadian Mixed Curling Championship.

 

Ontario, skipped by Chris Gardner of Arnprior, whacked New Brunswick, with Charlie Sullivan of Saint John at the controls, 9-3 in this afternoon’s first tiebreaker at the Canadian Mixed Curling Championship.

 

The final draw of the round robin in the Canadian Mixed Curling Championship concluded Friday morning, but it had no bearing on the playoff schedule, which was determined by the results of Draw 16 last evening.
