Volunteer Information

In February, twenty-six of Canada’s best male and female junior curling teams will travel to Napanee to compete for the M&M Meat Shops Canadian Juniors.  The Canadian championships will be contested at the Strathcona Paper Centre and Napanee & District Curling Club from February 4-12, 2012. Thirteen men’s and 13 women’s teams, representing the 10 provinces plus Northern Ontario, Northwest Territories and Yukon, will compete in the round robin, with games at both venues. The semi-finals and finals will be held at the Strathcona Paper Centre.

An event of this size requires a significant amount of volunteer support.  Over 200 volunteers are needed to assist with the logistics of the event.  This includes transportation, security, ice maintenance, game scoring and food.   Volunteering at the Canadian Junior Curling Championship will be an exciting experience.  Volunteers will have the opportunity to meet competitors, parents and fans from across Canada all while being an Ambassador for the Town of Greater Napanee.

Each of our volunteers will receive an event jacket, a week pass to all games and a volunteer recognition event for a volunteer fee of $100.

For more information contact Sandy Eastlake, Volunteer Coordinator by calling 613-354-7138 or by e-mail.
