The Great Canadian Auction 2017 was a GREAT success!
Thanks to the incredible bidding generousity of event attendees, on the outstanding prizes as donated by local artists and businesses in St. John’s Newfoundland and the 2017 Tim Hortons Brier Teams, $29,815 will go into youth curling programs across Canada!
This success will help get more youth involved in our school and local club programs, learning the fundamentals of curling and out on the ice, as well as supporting young competitive curlers with scholarship opportunities. On behalf of these young curlers and the Curling Canada Foundation, For the Love of Curling, we thank everyone who partnered with us to make this event possible.
As you can see the silent auction tables were over flowing with beautiful works of art, jewellery, dinner and weekend getaways, and user experience prizes, plus some incredible curling and sport memorabilia keepsakes.
See you next year, for The Great Canadian Auction 2018, at the Tim Hortons Brier in Regina Saskatchewan!
Every child, regardless of their personal circumstances, deserves the opportunity to feel the sense of pride, accomplishment and belonging that comes from participating in sport. We know the mental, physical and social benefits of organized sport are profound; and yet far too often today’s children are missing the chance for these life-enhancing opportunities.
At Curling Canada we want to ensure that no child is left out or behind.
Every year, through our growing school and club initiatives, we will reach and support a greater number of children and youth with the sport of curling. As part of the Brier legacy, with your support the Great Canadian Auction will ensure programs, like Egg Farmers Rocks & Rings ™, Curling 101 and For the Love of Curling Scholarships continue to create engaging and healthy opportunities for Canada’s young people — on and off the ice.
