Biography / Biographie:

Born at Winnipeg on 11 July 1910, son of George James Cameron and Agnes Simpson, his working life began as a clerk in the office of W. L. MacKenzie and Company, wholesale distributor of MacDonald Tobacco for western Canada, and working his way up to President in 1945. He retired in 1978 when MacDonald Tobacco was purchased by the Reynold Tobacco Company.

Active in the Manitoba curling community, he was a Brier Director continuously for 33 years, and was Secretary-Treasurer of the Curling Hall of Fame and Museum of Canada from 1974 to 1987, and first Secretary and Treasurer of the Manitoba Curling Hall of Fame and Museum (1987). In recognition of his service to the curling community, he was elected to the Governor-General’s Curling Club in 1967. He was inducted into the Canada Curling Hall of Fame (1975) and the Manitoba Curling Hall of Fame (1990).
