Biography / Biographie:

Hon. Thane Campbell of Charlottetown, P.E.I. was inducted into the Canadian Curling Hall of Fame in 1974 in the builder category.

The former Prince Edward Island premier and Chief Justice of the P.E.I. Supreme Court became interested in curling in 1928, and 14 years later finished second in the P.E.I. men’s championship. Off the ice, he served as president of the Dominion Curling Association (the predecessor of the Canadian Curling Association) and Prince Edward Island Curling Association, and was a vice-president of the Royal Caledonian Curling Club of Scotland. He also was a trustee of the Macdonald Brier Tankard.
