Biography / Biographie:

Laura Lochanski spent five years on the Canadian Curling Association’s Board of Governors, and had the privilege of chairing the board for the 2011-12 curling season.

Lochanski was first elected to the board prior to the 2008-09 curling season from Alberta, and over her five-year term, which expired in 2013, she worked tirelessly behind the scenes to help improve and grow the sport of curling.

During her term she was a member of the Hall of Fame and Awards Committee, the Governance Committee, the Appointment Selection Committee and the Equitable Opportunity to Access Canadian Championships Committee.

Additionally, she was an International Representative to the World Curling Federation for four years.

Laura’s work in support of curling started long before she joined the Board of Governors.

In addition being a competitive curler, Lochanski volunteered at countess regional, provincial and national championships in Alberta, in addition to board of directors stints with her home club, the Granite in Edmonton, the Northern Alberta Curling Association and the Alberta Curling Federation.
