Biography / Biographie:

Larry Wood, a long-time resident of Calgary, was the only inductee into the Canadian Curling Hall of Fame in the builder category in 2002.

Wood, at 64, a retired sports editor of Calgary Herald, has been writing about curling for nearly 45 years.

Since 1960, Wood has attended—in several capacities—and written about 40 Canadian Men’s Curling Championships and, since 1964, 19 world championships.

Wood was a member of the Calgary Curling Club for almost 20 years in the 1960s and ‘70s and played the game regularly until job commitments made it impossible. His credits include writing and/or editing the Canadian Curling News from 1965 to 1980, being Canadian Curling Association historian from 1983 to 1989, writing and acting as associate editor of Extra End magazine since 1981, being volunteer keeper of curling records since 1983 and being editor of the Tankard Times at the Brier since 1990.
