Charity Tournament participants try to get “Closest to the Button”

The 2011 Ford World Men’s Curling Championship Community Events volunteers attended the Juvenile Diabetes Charity Golf Tournament on June 16, and they brought along an extra game for the golfers. The volunteers placed a life-size curling house in the middle of one of the fairways and golfers were invited to try and hit their ball “Closest to the Button”. Although no one managed to get their ball to land in the rings, the golfers and the volunteers had a great time with the challenge. The volunteers made sure that every golfer received promotional golf tees or lip balm but due to the rain, the big prize was raffled off at the end of the day with the winner receiving two opening weekend ticket packages for the 2011 Ford World Men’s Curling Championship!
