Five Fun Facts about Team Nova Scotia

The 2018 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship heads to Swan River, Man., November 12-18. As our Provincial and Territorial champions prepare to compete for the 55th national Mixed title, we asked them to share five “fun facts” about their team.

This week we’ll hear from Team Nova Scotia, representing the Dartmouth Curling Club: Brent MacDougall (skip), Christina Black (third), Graham Breckon (second) and Jennifer Crouse (lead).

Five Fun Facts about Team Nova Scotia:

Fun Fact #1

Graham came out of retirement for one weekend and won the Mixed! He has added to his provincial Junior and Tankard titles. He plans on returning to retirement after Swan River until he is eligible for Seniors in two years.

Fun Fact #2

Jen is a certified Zumba instructor. She tried to create a routine for the team, but we decided it was best for everyone if we stuck with curling.

Fun Fact #3

Brent and Christina both hail from Cape Breton Island, regularly voted one of the top islands in the world. It is well known for its Celtic music, unique culture, and as a safe haven for Americans wanting to flee Trump.

Fun Fact #4

Christina’s claim to fame is “winning” TSN SportsCentre’s worst play of the day during the 2015 Scotties. She wiped out and drew herself to the button.

Fun Fact #5

Not many people realize that Brent is a huge Harry Potter fan! He has a dog named Padfoot, a cat named Hagrid and once had a very large snake hanging out at his house.
