Entries to the Future Stars contest at the 2020 Continental Cup of Curling are now open. The organizing committee invites junior curlers to apply for a chance to win a one-of-a-kind experience at the upcoming international curling championship in London, Ont.
The contest offers up-and-coming curlers a chance to meet and be matched with their curling idols.
Four Future Stars will be paired with each of the 12 teams competing at the 2020 Continental Cup, set for Jan. 9-12, 2020, at The Sports Centre at Western Fair District. The 48 junior curlers will receive mentorship, watch a team practice and participate in a pre-game ceremony.
Future Stars also win:
- An official photograph with the team;
- A ticket to watch their team play (two additional tickets supplied for parents/guardians);
- A commemorative Future Stars jacket;
- Official 2020 Continental Cup of Curling event pin; and
- Tour of the TSN mobile production truck (subject to approval by TSN).
Future Stars also experience the opportunity to give back by participating in the Bucket Brigade on Saturday evening in which funds are raised for the Curling Canada Foundation, which goes towards youth programs and scholarships.
The Future Stars contest is open to all junior curlers aged 10-16. Entry is limited to one per person and there is no cost to enter. Winners are responsible for their own accommodation, transportation, parking and meals.
The deadline to apply for Future Stars is Oct. 11.
