Fans in the Spruce City showed some hard-core enthusiasm in their support of Prince George hosting a major curling championship.
Beginning today, and through to Sunday, they will get their reward as full-event packages for the 2020 World Women’s Curling Championship will go on sale at a discounted price for Prince George residents.
For just $339 — a $50 savings on the regular price — fans can lock down their seat for all 25 draws of the 2020 Women’s Worlds, scheduled for March 14-22 at the CN Centre.
You can get a preview of what will take place in less than a year in Prince George as Chelsea Carey’s Team Canada plays for gold at the 2019 LGT World Women’s Curling Championship, presented by Pioneer Hi-Bred, in Denmark; check out coverage on TSN this week!
But if you want to see many of those same stars play for gold in 2020 at a discounted price, you’ll have to act fast as the price will go up to $389 on Monday, March 25.
“This is an unprecedented early-bird savings opportunity on tickets,” said Glen Mikkelsen, vice-chair of the Prince George host committee. “This is a wonderful chance to purchase your own tickets, and get tickets for friends and family that you can give as birthday, Christmas or even Mother’s Day or Father’s Day presents. And the more you buy, the more you save! Don’t delay — this chance to save on the biggest sporting and entertainment event of 2020 is not going to come again.”
Once the early-bird sale is done, full-event packages, for $389, will go on sale to the general public on March 25 at 10 a.m. PT.
All ticket packages are subject to standard facility and ticket service fees. Weekend packages will go on sale in the fall.
The 2020 World Women’s Curling Championship will feature 13 teams playing for gold, including the host Team Canada entry, which will be decided at the 2020 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Moose Jaw, Sask.
Not only will a world title be up for grabs, Prince George will also be the first opportunity for countries to earn qualifying points for the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
