July 29th Stampede Parade
Everybody loves a parade! Which made the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede parade the best place to show off the Canada Cup and its terrific volunteers and sponsors. Alison Christie from community events made use of banners, flags, and logos to pull together a float design that would showcase them all. A big thank you to Richard Lant from Rodeo Ford for providing that brilliant blue F150 to pull the trailer and also to Leo Fry for driving – we literally couldn’t have done it without you.
Canada Cup volunteers know curling! Check out the team in blue – Alberta blue – they are the 2011 Alberta Mixed Curling Champions right out of Medicine Hat’s home curling club and are off to the Canadian Mixed Championships this November in Morris, Manitoba. They are also dedicated Canada Cup volunteers – Tim Krassman – Skip; Holly Stroh – Third; Jeff Bodin – Second; Vicki Sjolie – Third. It is an “easy” game to play when curling with Fran Jensen, Arlene Keck, and Alison but walking the parade route can be hard when you’re back in the pack at number 93.
A truck was a must but the trailer came first. Thank you to Desmond Grant for finding the trailer to decorate and providing the garage to work in. Again – we couldn’t have done it without you!
