Volunteers Prepare for Canadian Women’s Curling Classic

The Host Committee for the 2013 Scotties Tournament of Hearts held its first Volunteer Rally Sunday, October 21 at the Four Points by Sheraton Kingston… and more than 300 people showed up to get ready for the longest-running championship in women’s curling. The enthusiastic group of volunteers was welcomed by Host Chair Ken Thompson along with Vice-Chairs Jan Ray, Larke Zarichny and Brian Ward.  The afternoon session included sizing for event uniforms, posing for accreditation photos and the opportunity to meet with directors and fellow committee members. Most importantly, volunteers were briefed on their respective assignments when the Scotties Tournament of Hearts makes its first visit to Kingston, February 16-24 at the K-Rock Centre. Those who were unable to attend must contact Jennifer McCandie at the event office by Friday, October 26 to make alternate arrangements.  The second Volunteer Rally will take place in January when uniforms and accreditation passes will be distributed. For fans who plan to take in all the excitement of the Scotties, time is running out to purchase Double Impact ticket packages.  The Opener features a pair of tickets for the first 11 draws for $279, and The Champ includes two reserved seats for the final 11 draws priced at $399, including all the action on championship weekend.  But Double Impact is only available until October 30! “You Gotta Be There” for the 2013 Scotties Tournament of Hearts.   Pick up the prime seats in the K-Rock Centre today by clicking here.
