Ulsrud’s coming back to B.C.

Thomas Ulsrud will be returning to familiar territory when he heads to Canada’s west coast yet again, this time for the 2013 Ford World Men’s Curling Championship, presented by Booster Juice. The colourful skip will be making his ninth appearance at the world championship, including seven of the last eight years, when he represents Norway at the Ford World Men’s, March 30-April 7 in Victoria’s Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

Ulsrud’s most memorable experience on British Columbia ice came at the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver, where he earned the silver medal in the emotionally-charged final against Team Canada’s Kevin Martin. The Norwegians were also part of the Team World contingent at the 2013 World Financial Group Continental Cup, earlier this year in Penticton, as well as the 2012 edition in Langley. Ulsrud has competed in the European Curling Championships 11 times, winning the gold medal in 2010 and 2011. His bid for a third consecutive title fell short in 2012, with a loss to Sweden’s Niklas Edin in the gold-medal match. He will be making the trip to Victoria with teammates Torger Nergård, Christoffer Svae and Håvard Vad Petersson. “You Gotta Be There” for all the excitement of the 2013 Ford World Men’s Curling Championship.
