CCA and CURLSASK collaborate on new website
A new website launching this week is the product of a unique collaboration between the Canadian Curling Association (CCA) and one of its Member Associations.
The website — www.curlsask.ca — will be the new home page for the rebranded CURLSASK, formerly known as the Saskatchewan Curling Association.
It’s part of a pilot project, which is being operated through the CCA’s Information Services and Technology Department, to provide support to its Member Associations for all of their website, social media and competition results platforms.
“This an example of the CCA working closely with Member Associations to ensure that curlers and curling fans are kept up to date with the latest in information and technology,” said CCA Chief Executive Officer Greg Stremlaw. “CURLSASK has been wonderful to work with in this venture, and the results speak with themselves. We’re looking forward to similar collaborations with our other Member Associations as this two-year pilot project goes forward.”
The results system, which will present up-to-date scoring from CURLSASK’s various provincial championships, will run on the CCA’s new-and-improved CurlCast program, which is being updated for the 2013-14 curling season.
“The website is a major part of our rebranding and is a huge step forward for curling in Saskatchewan,” said CURLSASK executive-director Amber Holland. “It’s a great example of what can happen when everybody’s on the same page, and we’re grateful for the role the CCA and its Information Services and Technology department played in getting to this finished product.”
