BRANDON (Manitoba) \u2013 Brendan Bottcher d\u2019Edmonton a marqu\u00e9 trois deux-points en route vers une victoire de 8-4 sur John Epping de Toronto pour gagner la wildcard et acc\u00e9der au tableau principal du Brier Tim Hortons 20019, pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 par AGI, \u00e0 Westoba Place.<\/p>\n

Dans un match revanche de la demi-finale du Brier Tim Hortons de l\u2019an dernier \u00e9galement remport\u00e9e par Bottcher, le quatuor de l\u2019Alberta a r\u00e9ussi plus de coups cl\u00e9s et moins de coups rat\u00e9s pour m\u00e9riter un autre chance de remporter le championnat qu\u2019il a perdu en finale l\u2019an dernier face \u00e0 \u00c9quipe Canada Brad Gushue.<\/p>\n

Le match a \u00e9t\u00e9 serr\u00e9 jusqu’au 8e bout quand Bottcher a marqu\u00e9 deux points et puis en a vol\u00e9 un au 9e ; en d\u00e9sespoir de cause, Epping tent\u00e9 un triple avec sa derni\u00e8re pierre et en a laiss\u00e9 un sur le carreau. Mais les deux skips \u00e9taient d’accord que les bouts importants ont \u00e9t\u00e9 au d\u00e9but du match, au 3e quand Bottcher a marqu\u00e9 ses deux premiers points avant d’en voler un au 4e.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00ab\u00a0Le double au 3e bout a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9norme,\u00a0\u00bb a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Bottcher. \u00ab\u00a0Le score dans le quatri\u00e8me \u00e9tait bien juste parce que maintenant nous avons marqu\u00e9 dans le bouts pairs, mais le deux-points \u00e9tait super pour nous calmer, nous sommes en bonne position, juste g\u00e9rer le tableau de pointage. Parfois dans des matchs comme ceux-ci, compter en premier aide, car vous pouvez vous d\u00e9tendre un peu.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Nous avons pu voler au 2e bout et je croyais leur enlever le momentum,\u00a0\u00bb a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 un Epping d\u00e9\u00e7u. \u00ab\u00a0Deux ou trois coups rat\u00e9s (en trois) leur a donn\u00e9 un double. Nous avons jou\u00e9 un bon 4e bout, mais ils ont fini par voler. Ce fut un gros tournant pour nous.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

Bottcher, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que le point important pour\u00a0 son \u00e9quipe \u00e9tait de rester d\u00e9tendue, notamment apr\u00e8s leur vol du d\u00e9but.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Nous avons d\u00e9but\u00e9 lentement, nous avions le marteau, mais ils ont tout de m\u00eame vol\u00e9 le bout. Nous sommes rest\u00e9s dans le match, rest\u00e9s calmes et \u00e7a \u00e9t\u00e9 payant pour nous. Je me sentais vraiment en paix avec le jeu aujourd’hui.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

Epping a marqu\u00e9 un point au 5e et deux au 7e, mais Bottcher en a marqu\u00e9 deux au 6e et a gard\u00e9 le contr\u00f4le.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Nous n’avons pas assez bien jou\u00e9 aujourd’hui,\u00a0\u00bb dit Epping. \u00ab\u00a0J\u2019ai rat\u00e9 quelques coups au d\u00e9but… et ils en ont r\u00e9ussi de bons. C\u2019est\u00a0malheureux.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

C’est gr\u00e2ce au rang dans le classement des \u00e9quipes canadiennes que ces deux formations se sont retrouv\u00e9es dans le match wildcard apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9chou\u00e9 \u00e0 remporter leurs titres provinciaux.<\/p>\n

Bottcher, le troisi\u00e8me Darren Moulding, le deuxi\u00e8me Brad Thiessen et le joueur de t\u00eate Karrick Martin n\u2019avaient pas atteint la finale des \u00e9liminatoires de l\u2019Alberta.<\/p>\n

Epping, le troisi\u00e8me Mathew Camm, le deuxi\u00e8me Brent Laing, le joueur de t\u00eate Craig Savill et l’entra\u00eeneur Jim Wilson, n’ont pas pu se classer hors de l\u2019Ontario, perdant trois fois dans les \u00e9liminatoires.<\/p>\n

Bottcher a marqu\u00e9 un deux-points au 3e bout, en a vol\u00e9 un au 4e et en a pris deux au 6e et au 8e pour compenser le vol d’un point de Epping au 2e, d’un seul au 5e et deux autres au 7e.<\/p>\n

Gushue, ici comme \u00c9quipe Canada pour une deuxi\u00e8me ann\u00e9e cons\u00e9cutive, commence sa qu\u00eate pour un troisi\u00e8me Brier contre McDonald samedi \u00e0 19 h. Le premier match est \u00e0 14 h.<\/p>\n
