ICE TECHNICIAN SERVICES FOR 2016/17 CURLING SEASON
REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
The St. Thomas Curling Club a six sheet curling facility is reviewing our current contracts for the provisions of ice installation and maintenance services and invite interested parties to submit a proposal.
We will consider a contract for services or an employer/employee relationship.
The Ice Technician is responsible for the day-to-day ice operations ensuring a high quality playing surface. The successful incumbent will establish and maintain positive working relationships with the Ice Committee Chairman, Board of Directors, staff and club members.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Ice installation;
• Daily maintenance;
• Recruitment, training, and scheduling of ice staff;
• Ice removal, proper storage of rocks, facility and equipment repairs as required.
Preference will be given to candidates who possess a Level 2 Ice Technician certificate or equivalent work experience.
You will have the ability to work with minimal supervision, possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to analyze and solve problems.
The candidate will possess the ability to efficiently handle multiple duties and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
