The Peace River Curling Club is in need of an Ice Technician/Club Manager for the upcoming 2015-2016 season. Our season runs from mid-September to mid-April. Preference will be given to those with previous Ice Technician experience.
Peace River is a growing community of approximately 7,000 people located near the Seal Lake and Carmen Creek oil deposits, 450km north of Edmonton. Our recently renovated five-sheet facility hosts six to eight weekly draws (men’s, ladies and mixed), an after-school junior program, and six to eight bonspiels (or playdowns) throughout the season.
Our Ice Technician/Club Manager will be responsible for ice installation, daily ice maintenance, and removal of the ice. Other duties will include facilitation of ice rentals (school and corporate), general building and ice plant maintenance, and collection of league fees. Some caretaker duties such as sidewalk snow removal will be required. Custodial duties are an option should the qualified candidate be interested. The individual may also use office space to stock and sell curling merchandise.
