The Niagara Falls Curling Club is committed to providing physical activity for all ages and abilities while building lifelong friendships through the sport of curling. Members and guests enjoy a safe, clean environment with six sheets of ice, a licensed lounge and change room facilities.
Currently an employment opportunity exists for a Club Manager. Reporting to the Board of Directors, this is an integral position within the club responsible for the orderly operation of the curling facility on a day-to-day basis while providing the membership with a viable, pleasurable and reliable curling environment.
Major responsibilities include:
• Coordinate curling activities at NFCC including rental sheets, leagues, bonspiels and programs to expand curling and curling related revenue
• Ongoing management of club staff
• Oversight of food and beverage service
• Active role in soliciting on-ice advertising partnerships
• Monitoring of all service agreements, contracts and club licenses to ensure compliance
• Ensure the health, safety and security of staff and guests through health and safety procedures
• Collaborate in the planning and implementation of facility-based business and strategic plans as well as long range financial planning
• Ensure that the facility is properly maintained, repaired and upgraded as needed
The ideal candidate should have:
• Proven experience dealing with finances including bookkeeping, payroll and budgeting tasks, experience working with Sage (Simply Accounting) would be an asset
• Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of customer service
• Ability to coordinate daily activities, including management of multiple projects, maintenance activities and staff
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and mature judgment when interacting with a broad range of people, including staff, vendors, and stakeholders on both an individual and group level
• Working knowledge of applications such as Microsoft Excel and Word and strong written and verbal communication skills
• Have valid smart serve certification and have AODA training completed prior to the start of the curling season
• Curling club experience is an asset
The Club Manager contract runs from mid-August to the end of May annually and receives a competitive compensation package.
