Curling Canada annonce les gagnants et souligne les succès de la Journée du curling au Canada 2025

Every year, Curling Day in Canada, presented by Pharmasave, acknowledges the nationwide appreciation for the game of curling and the sense of community that comes with it.

This year, Curling Day in Canada was recognized on Feb. 22 across the country. The day saw over 1.35 million impressions on social media, and a total of $14,624.33 was raised through merchandise sales, with all proceeds supporting youth curling programs across Canada.

Between contests and celebrations, Canadians from coast-to-coast shared their stories about what curling means to them, some of which were told on TSN’s Curling Day in Canada special broadcast.

Broadcast during the closing weekend of the 2025 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Thunder Bay, Ont., Toronto’s Granite Club hosted TSN’s Lindsay Hamilton and Bob Weeks, joined by curling great John Epping, who guided viewers through various Curling Day in Canada celebrations and history. The broadcast reached an impressive 444,800 viewers nationwide and is still available to watch here.

Over 100 curling stories were submitted to Curling Canada’s Curling Story Contest, and after a careful selection process and voting round, Curling Canada is pleased to announce Renai McWillie’s “Revival of the Gress Cup” as the 2025 winner.

Renai’s story is about the town of Viscount, Sask., reviving a community event, the Gress Cup, 46 years after its most recent edition for a day of curling, camaraderie, competition, and fun. Renai’s winning story earned her an all-expenses-paid closing weekend trip for four people to the 2026 Montana’s Brier in St. John’s, N.L.

But Renai wasn’t the only winner this year, as Curling Day in Canada also features Canada’s Big Shootout, a chance for participating clubs to win a $5,000 curling facility grant by covering the pin more than any other club in this recorded and timed event.

Curling Canada is delighted to announce the Victoria Curling Club as the 2025 Big Shootout Champion with 15 pinned draws!

Mark your calendars for next year’s Curling Day in Canada celebration on Jan. 31, 2026!
