As the subject line indicates, this was the longest day for all concerned at the 2012 Canadian Senior Curling Championships presented by Raymond James. Tonight’s draw #10 was the fourth of the day and there were some key match ups on the ice at the Abbotsford Recreation Centre.
This second of four draws on day #3 of the Canadian Senior Curling Championships presented by Raymond James in Abbotsford, BC saw some clutch shots both made and missed. Once again, this was a mixed draw with three games of each gender group played.
Today’s third of four draws bore witness to some clashes of the titans.

The Canadian Senior Men’s and Women’s Curling Championships get underway Saturday at the Recreation Centre in Abbotsford, British Columbia.
The 52-year-old Heidi Hanlon, an 11-time Scotties veteran for New Brunswick, scored her province’s first ever victory in the Canadian senior women’s championship, besting Ontario’s Joyce Potter, 8-6.
Manitoba’s Kelly Robertson’s Neepawa team, which had suffered just one loss during the week, that being a 7-5 decision to Alberta’s Brad Hannah of Edmonton, while finishing first with a 10-1 mark, avenged that loss in the only game that really mattered, winning by the same score.
Manitoba’s Kelly Robertson and New Brunswick’s Heidi Hanlon emerged victorious at the World Financial Group Canadian Seniors in Digby, Nova Scotia on Saturday.
In semi final action tonight, New Brunswick’s Heidi Hanlon, with machine-like precision, beat Saskatchewan’s Delores Syrota 8-5 to advance to the championship final of the World Financial Group Canadian Seniors.
Newfoundland & Labrador’s Jeff Thomas parlayed steals of one, two and one in ends four to six in defeating Saskatchewan’s Brad Heidt 8-5 in this afternoon’s tie breaker game for third place in the men’s section.
The round robin portion of the 2011 World Financial Group Canadian Senior Men and Women’s Championships in Digby, NS has ended and the playoff rounds have been determined.
