No changes on leaderboard at Juniors

Ontario (Rachel Homan of Ottawa) and Manitoba (Alex Forrest of Winnipeg) continue to lead at the M&M Meat Shops Canadian Juniors, presented by AMJ Campbell Van Lines. While Ontario, still perfect at 6-0, had a Tuesday evening bye, Manitoba faced Nova Scotia (Scott Garnett of Halifax), winning 9-5 to improve to 7-0. Right behind at 6-1 is Saskatchewan (Braeden Moskowy of Regina), which stopped defending champion Prince Edward Island (Brett Gallant of Charlottetown), 8-3. Ontario (Jake Walker of Kitchener) is at 5-1 after an evening bye, while Gallant, who was on a four-game win streak, dropped to 5-3. Idle British Columbia (Tyler Klymchuk of Langley) and Alberta (Brendan Bottcher of Edmonton) are at 4-3 while Nova Scotia dropped to 4-4. In other men’s Draw 12 results, Northern Ontario (Christian Tolusso of Thunder Bay) edged Quebec (Kevin Rivest of Montreal), 6-5, while Newfoundland and Labrador (Kelly Schuh of St. John’s) shaded New Brunswick (Josh Barry of Rothesay), 9-8 in an extra end, its second win in a row. In women’s, Ontario is being chased by Northern Ontario (Kendra Lilly of Sudbury), which defeated Quebec (Camille-Marie Lapierre of Otterburn Park), 8-6.  The victory upped the Idylwylde Golf & Country Club team’s record to 6-1. Meanwhile, Saskatchewan (Trish Paulsen of Saskatoon) dropped a 10-8 decision to Prince Edward Island  (Sarah Fullerton of Cornwall), to fall to 5-2.   Nova Scotia (Tara LeGay of Bridgewater) won a defensive struggle over Manitoba (Breanne Meakin of Winnipeg), 5-1 while Newfoundland and Labrador (Jen Cunningham of St. John’s) doubled up New Brunswick (Jessica Daigle of Saint John), 8-4. British Columbia (Dailene Sivertson of Victoria) and Alberta (Nadine Chyz of Calgary) are both 4-3, while Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island are 4-4. The round robin continues on Wednesday with draws at 10:00 am, 2:30 pm and 7:00 pm at Le Colisée and Club de curling Aurèle-Racine.
