Howard wins Canada Cup

Glenn Howard of Coldwater, ON wins the men’s final of the Canada Cup, 10 – 7 over Kevin Martin of Edmonton, Sunday at The Arena in Medicine Hat.
Howard, along with third Wayne Middaugh, second Brent Laing and lead Craig Savill earned $25,000 for the win, plus $4,000 for their five round robin wins, for a total of $29,000, finishing with an overall record of 7-1. It is the first Canada Cup win for all.
The Howard team also earns berths into the 2011 Canada Cup, November 30-December 4 in Cranbrook, BC and the 2012 World Financial Group Continental Cup, January 12-15 in Langley, BC.
Martin picks up $15,000 for finishing second, plus another $4,000 for his five round robin wins, for a total of $19,000.
Edmonton’s Kevin Koe finished third, earning $12,400, while Mike McEwen of Winnipeg was fourth and received $8,200.
