Rising Stars Set to Shine in 2011 Canada Cup

The 2010-2011 season was a memorable one for Chelsea Carey as her team played their way to the upper ranks of the women’s competitive curling circuit.

On the merits of victories at the Manitoba Curling Classic, the Manitoba Curling Tour Championship and the DeKalb Superspiel, the foursome was named the World Curling Tour’s Breakthrough Team of the Year.  Their success also earned the Canadian Team Ranking System points required for a berth in the 2011 Canada Cup. The Carey team – including Kristy Jenion, Kristen Foster and Lindsay Titheridge – came within one win of a trip to Charlottetown for the 2011 Scotties Tournament of Hearts.  Riding an undefeated streak into the Manitoba Scotties championship final, they lost a heartbreaker to Cathy Overton-Clapham. The Winnipeg crew will be looking to add the 2011 Canada Cup title to their growing list of achievements when the open play November 30th at the Cranbrook Rec Plex.
