There’s Plenty of Rock Stars at the Capital One Canada Cup

The competition will be intense for the 2011 Capital One Canada Cup in the Cranbrook Rec Plex November 30 – December 4.  But when the curling’s done it’s time for the fun – and that’s when everyone heads to the Patch!

The Patch – the legendary party place for Season of Champions events – is just a short walk from the arena in the Cranbrook Curling Club.  It’s where fans, curlers and volunteers come together to enjoy the great selection of food and beverages… and dance to the sounds of some of Canada’s hottest bands.  And the best part is, admission is free with every same-day draw ticket. The Canada Cup entertainment lineup has been designed to appeal to a wide range of tastes. Billy Jive and the Funkadelics Tuesday, Nov. 29 9:00 pm – 1:00 am Get ready for a funky flash back to the disco days of the 70’s and 80’s when Billy Jive and the Funkadelics hit the stage.  The Cranbrook disco/funk group brings back all the favorite hits – complete with comedy, choreography and some wild costume changes! The Chevelles Wednesday, Nov. 30 &  Thursday, Dec. 1 10:30 pm – 1:00 am You’re in for a wild ride when The Chevelles shift into high gear!  These guys have been rockin’ the Patch across the country for the past several seasons – recreating the power and excitement of the live music scene of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. The Mudmen Friday, Dec. 2 10:30 pm – 1:00 am Always entertaining and unquestionably unique, The Mudmen bring a refreshing blast of Celtic energy to the stage with every performance.  They’ve opened for some of the biggest acts in the business – including ZZ Top, The Guess Who and Nazareth – and now they’re right here in the Patch! The Boom Chucka Boys Saturday, Dec. 3 9:30 pm With a distinctive style influenced by the likes of Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Merle Haggard, Corb Lund and Bruce Springsteen, The Boom Chucka Boys are guaranteed to keep your toes tapping all night long.  They combine the simple sounds of classic country, the energy and beat of 50’s rockabilly and the melodic hook of modern-day Nashville to create their own unique sound.
