Four in a Row Adds Up to a First for Stoughton
When Jeff Stoughton suits up for Team North America at the 2012 World Financial Group Continental Cup of Curling it will mark a fourth consecutive Season of Champions appearance.
The string began at the 2011 Tim Hortons Brier in London where the Manitoba skip defeated home-province favourite Glenn Howard in the championship final. The victory took the Stoughton team to Regina for another trophy celebration at the 2011 Ford World Men’s Curling Championship.
This season’s first stop is Cranbrook to compete in the Capital One Canada Cup November 30 – December 4 with teammates Jon Mead, Reid Carruthers and Steve Gould – and then they head back to B.C. for the World Financial Group Continental Cup of Curling, January 12 – 15 in the Langley Events Centre.
A veteran of nine Briers, including three Tankard titles along with a pair of world championships, this represents Stoughton’s Continental Cup debut as Team North America faces Team World in the popular international challenge.
