The Canadian Curling Association (CCA) has entered into the mobile application market with Curling.ca Mobile, its first official offering for Apple iPhone, iPod and iPad users today, providing fans of curling with an exciting new way to stay up to date with their favourite sport.
Curling.ca Mobile is available to fans in Canada and around the world, and provides access to news headlines, championship event scoring, exclusive photos and videos, and a great new way to find curling facilities across the country.
“The CCA continues to provide enhanced products and services to curling enthusiasts across the country. With major inroads into our new social media platforms, our Information Technology Department has once again taken the lead to ensure that curling fans can access exclusive photos and videos, catch up on the latest news in the world of curling and see how their favourite teams are faring at major curling events, including all the CCA’s Season of Champions properties,” explained Greg Stremlaw, Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Curling Association. “In addition, the CCA’s Club Finder will act as a further tool to allow existing and potential curling participants to locate and get directions to their nearest curling clubs across Canada regardless of whether in their home communities or when travelling abroad.”
The English language version of Curling.ca Mobile is initially available for all iOS devices (Apple iPhone, iPod and iPad) and fans can download the Curling.ca Mobile app for free in the Apple iTunes Store or by visiting Curling.ca/mobile.
Blackberry and Android device users will see free versions of Curling.ca Mobile later this month, and a French language version of the mobile application will be coming soon as well.

“When Select Start Studios teamed up with the Canadian Curling Association to build Curling.ca Mobile, we were extremely excited,” explained Jennifer Butson, Marketing Director at Select Start Studios Inc. “As a winter sport so intensely woven into the fabric of Canadian culture, we are proud to partner with the CCA in providing the curling community with a great new way to keep up to date with their favourite pastime.”
