Now that’s entertainment!
One of the strongest fields in history will compete for the Canadian Men’s Curling Championship, March 2-10, when the 2013 Tim Hortons Brier moves into Edmonton’s Rexall Place.
In addition to all the excitement on the ice, courtesy of the top 12 teams in the country, a full schedule of entertainment is waiting just a short walk from the arena in the Edmonton EXPO Centre.
That’s where you’ll find The Original 16 Patch, Canada’s legendary party place, where fans, athletes, sponsors and volunteers gather to celebrate the social side of the sport. The Patch will be rocking all week long, with a tasty selection of food and beverages, and an amazing lineup of live entertainment.
The party officially gets underway Friday, March 1 with Fan Appreciation Night – an exclusive event where full event pass holders have the opportunity to meet the athletes. The evening’s entertainment features The Retrofitz, an 11-piece band that’s jam-packed with some of Edmonton’s finest musicians.
The Patch will also be home to the Cool Shots competition. Entry is free to play the popular tabletop version of the roaring game with cash prizes on the line. Daily winners will move on to shoot in the Cool Shots finals on championship weekend.
Right next door, the Purple Heart Lounge is the setting for Up Close and Personal interviews and Team Autograph sessions. It’s your chance to meet face-to-face with the biggest names in the game.
