The road to gold!

Memorable 2017 wins for Team Gushue, Team Homan featured by TSN

Entering the 2016-17 curling season, both Brad Gushue and Rachel Homan had unfinished business in their already wonderful curling careers.

For Gushue and his team from St. John’s, the quest for an elusive first victory at the Tim Hortons Brier was tops on the agenda, and the opportunity to do it on home ice in St. John’s made that quest even more special.

For Team Homan, a world championship gold medal was a top priority. The Ottawa squad had attended two previous world championships and come away with bronze and silver, so a trip to the top of the podium was a huge motivator.

This Sunday’s edition of Curling Encores on TSN will see both teams achieve those ultimate goals. Team Gushue’s emotional triumph in St. John’s, followed by a perfect gold-medal performance at the World Men’s Championship in Edmonton, as well as Team Homan’s victories at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in St. Catharines, Ont., and the World Women’s Championship in Beijing will be the featured broadcasts on TSN1.

Check out Curling Canada’s Twitter feed for information on game participants live-tweeting during the broadcasts.
