Teams continue to find their stride at the 2021 Home Hardware Pre Trials Presented by New Holland

Even the soggy downpour of an Atlantic wind and rainstorm couldn’t keep the flame of Olympic dreams from heating up on Tuesday evening at the 2021 Home Hardware Pre Trials, Presented by New Holland.

And as the weather outside continued to intensify, so too did the shotmaking inside for draw 6 action at Queens Emera Place in Liverpool, NS.

Fans, both inside the event and streaming at home on Curling Canada’s YouTube page, were treated to a tightly contested feature match which saw Colton Flasch (2-0; Saskatoon) defeat Braden Calvert (0-2; Winnipeg) by a score of 3-2. The match was a low scoring affair bookended by six total blank ends and both teams executing a defensive approach towards scoreboard management.

Team Corryn Brown (3-0; Kamloops, B.C.) maintained their winning ways by defeating Team Jestyn Murphy (0-2; Mississauga, Ont.) 11-5 while Team Darcy Robertson (2-1; Winnipeg) prevailed in an all Manitoba matchup, defeating Team Mackenzie Zacharias (1-1; Altona, Man.) by a score of 8-5.
