A Nova Scotia curling hotbed will once again step up to host this country’s elite curlers to decide a national championship, it was announced today by Curling Canada.
The 2027 Canadian Mixed Doubles Championship will be played Oct. 25-31 at Queens Place Emera Centre in Liverpool, N.S.
Queens Place Emera seats around 1,000 people, and has hosted numerous significant curling events over the years, most recently the 2025 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Trials. The arena also was the site of the 2021 Home Hardware Curling Pre-Trials, the 2019 World Junior Curling Championships and the 2014 New Holland Canadian Under-20 Curling Championships.
“When the curling community of Liverpool and Queens County tell us they’re interested in hosting major curling events, we’re always eager to listen and once again they made it an easy decision,” said Nolan Thiessen, Chief Executive Officer of Curling Canada. “We have high hopes that the 2027 Canadian Mixed Doubles Championship will represent a significant step forward for the event, and we know that Liverpool and its outstanding host committee will do a superb job in making this a special championship.”
It will mark the first time the Canadian Mixed Doubles Championship has been staged as a fall event, and the winning duo will qualify for the 2028 World Mixed Doubles Championship Jan. 8-15 (location to be announced by World Curling).

The Canadian Mixed Doubles Championship made its debut in 2013 in Leduc, Alta., and with the mixed doubles discipline added as an Olympic medal sport in 2018, the Canadian championship plays a significant role in deciding the team that represents Canada on the world stage.
It’s the first time that Nova Scotia will play host to the Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championship.

Fourteen Member Association champions will join qualifying teams from the Canadian Mixed Doubles Rankings. Further details on the field and format will be announced at a later date.
