Curling Canada is looking for dynamic, engaging, and enthusiastic Arena & Patch Host to help bring the energy at our Season of Champions events!
Whether you’re introducing some of the best curlers in the world to a packed arena, getting fans fired up before a draw, interviewing athletes in The Patch, or convincing a room full of curling fans to participate in a contest they absolutely did not expect to enter five minutes earlier – you’ll play an important role in creating the memorable event experiences our fans know and love.
This is a contract opportunity for someone who is comfortable thinking on their feet, connecting with people, working in a fast-paced live-event environment, and bringing their own personality to the role. Come help us turn great curling events into unforgettable experiences.
What You’ll Be Doing
Bringing the Arena to Life:
As an Arena Host, you’ll help set the tone before and during draws, working closely with Curling Canada event staff, broadcast partners, officials, athletes, and other members of the event team.
You may be responsible for:
• Welcoming fans and build excitement leading into draws.
• Delivering team introductions, draw announcements and other pre-game programming with energy and professionalism.
• Learning about the athletes, teams and storylines competing at the event so you can keep your hosting informed, relevant and engaging.
• Coordinating with event staff, TSN, officials and athletes to ensure introductions and other presentation elements happen at the right time.
• Supporting between-end programming, sponsor activations, contests and other in-game entertainment.
• Engaging naturally with the crowd and help create an atmosphere that makes attending a Curling Canada event different from simply watching from home.
• Rolling with last-minute changes – because if you’ve worked in live events before, you know the script doesn’t always survive first contact with reality.
Making the Patch the Place to be…
The Patch is where curling fans, athletes, volunteers, and communities come together after the rocks stop moving – and we want our Host to be at the centre of it.
You may be responsible for:
• Serving as the face and voice of The Patch, creating a fun, welcoming and energetic atmosphere.
• Introducing bands, entertainers, special guests and scheduled programming.
• Hosting Up Close and Personal interviews with athletes and other members of the curling community.
• Getting out into the crowd, meet fans, visit tables and make people feel like they’re part of the event.
• Leading games, contests, promotions and interactive activities.
• Working alongside entertainment providers, vendors, bar staff and the Curling Canada event team to keep programming running smoothly and on time.
• Supporting sponsor activations and promotional opportunities in ways that feel natural and engaging for fans.
• Spotting opportunities to create memorable moments – even when they weren’t originally on the schedule.
• Bringing forward your own creative ideas for activities, promotions and ways to make The Patch even better.
What You Bring….
There isn’t one specific background we’re looking for. You might have experience in live events, broadcasting, radio, entertainment, sport, public speaking, emceeing – or you might simply be someone who has the personality and presence to own a room.
We’d love to hear from you if you:
• Are confident and comfortable speaking in front of large groups and interacting with people one-on-one.
• Bring energy, personality, and authenticity to the microphone.
• Can read a room and adjust your approach to the crowd in front of you.
• Are quick on your feet and comfortable improvising when plans change.
• Know how to keep things moving while still making an experience feel natural and fun.
• Are organized, reliable and understand that timing matters in a live-event environment.
• Work well with athletes, staff, volunteers, sponsors, broadcasters, vendors and venue partners.
• Can balance having fun with representing Curling Canada and our partners professionally.
• Are comfortable taking direction while also bringing your own ideas and hosting style to the role.
• Have an interest in curling, sport and creating great fan experiences.
Previous hosting, emceeing, broadcasting or live-event experience is an asset, but we’re just as interested in finding someone with the right personality, instincts and ability to connect with people.

Why Curling Canada?
Curling brings people together – and our events are about much more than what happens on the ice.
From the first fan through the doors to the last song of the night in The Patch, we want people to leave our events with stories they’ll tell, moments they’ll remember and a feeling that they were part of something special.
Our Event Hosts help make that happen.
At Curling Canada, our vision is to create a sport where everyone is unique, but never belonged more, and our purpose is to create meaningful experiences. We’re looking for someone who can bring those words to life – one introduction, interview, laugh, contest and crowd interaction at a time.
Interested?
We’d love to hear from you.
Please submit your resume and a brief introduction telling us why you’d be a great fit for this opportunity via careers@curling.ca on or before Friday, November 29, 2026, using the subject line [FIRST NAME LAST NAME – ARENA PATCH HOST]. In addition to your resume, interested candidates must submit examples from past similar work, including but not limited to: a demo reel, hosting clips, social media content or other examples that show us your personality and on-camera/on-mic experience.
Don’t have a traditional hosting reel? That’s okay. We’re interested in seeing you – your personality, energy and ability to connect with an audience.
Curling Canada is committed to creating an inclusive environment where people can bring their authentic selves to our sport and our team. We encourage applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.
