PRIZE$150,000 purseThe 2024 CMDCC Gold Medalist will represent Canada at the 2024 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship (2024 WMDCC) in location TBD.The top-3 placing teams at the 2024 CMDCC will earn a berth into the 2025 Canadian Mixed Doubles Trials (CMDT).The top-4 placing teams at the 2024 CMDCC will earn a berth into the 2025 CMDCC.
FORMAT32-team round robin, 4 pools of 8 teams seeded by 2023/24 CMDR.12-team single knockout championship round.Pool winners receive a bye into the quarterfinals. Next 8 highest placing teams from the round robin will compete in the Round of 16.Bronze medal game will be played to determine 3rd place.No tiebreakers.
QUALIFICATION32 berths will be awarded, in the following order, on the day after the completion of the final 2024 MD Provincial/Territorial Championship: (14) Member Association Teams(4) Semi-finalists from the 2023 CMDCC(14) 2023/24 Canadian Mixed Doubles Rankings (as of February 20, 2024)
ELIGIBILITYMember Association Teams must: meet the mixed doubles residency & eligibility requirements HERE. All other Athletes/Teams must have: met the mixed doubles eligibility requirements HERE.registered as a MD team on the 2023/24 CMDR by January 1, 2024.played in a minimum of 2 MD events together between August 1, 2023 and February 19, 2024.
ATHLETE REPLACEMENT POLICYMember association teams need to consult with their member association for their respective athlete replacement policies.   If a qualified athlete cannot compete in the 2024 CMDCC due to a conflict with the 2024 World Men’s or World Women’s Curling Championship, their registered partner may select a new teammate to compete in the 2024 CMDCC without any restriction on who to select as long as the new partner meet the eligibility requirements listed HERE.   If an athlete loses a registered partner due to illness, injury or parental leave after the January 1, 2024 CMDR registration deadline but before 2024 CMDCC berths are awarded, they will be permitted to select a new eligible partner. Their new 2023/24 CMDR ranking for qualification will be updated to reflect the new lineup.   If an athlete loses a registered partner due to illness, injury or parental leave after the 2024 CMDCC berths are awarded but before the event begins, they will be permitted to select a new eligible partner and retain the berth provided their new 2023/24 CMDR ranking would remain ahead of the next highest ranked team not qualified for the 2024 CMDCC.   In all other cases, an athlete must compete with their registered partner or they will not be eligible to compete in the 2024 CMDCC. Their 2024 CMDCC berth will be awarded to the next highest ranked registered team on the 2023/24 CMDR.

2025 Canadian Mixed Doubles Trials

PRIZE:The Winner will represent Canada at the 2025 WMDCC in location TBD.The Winner will be nominated to represent Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan, Italy, pending Canada’s qualification.The top-4 placing teams will earn a berth into the 2025 CMDCC in location TBD.
FORMAT:16-team round robin, 2 pools of 8 teams seeded by 2025 Trials CMDR.The top 3 teams from each pool advance to the 6-team championship round. Playoff format mirrors new playoff structure announced for 2024 Scotties/Brier.No tiebreakers.
QUALIFICATION:16 berths will be awarded, in the following order, upon completion of each individual qualifying event: (3) 2024 CMDCC gold, silver, and bronze medalists.(2) Next two highest ranked teams on the 2023/24 CMDR as of April 30, 2024.(3) Canadian Mixed Doubles Tour Events held in Fall 2024. The highest placing team in the event not already qualified for the 2025 MDCT will earn a berth.(8) Next eight highest ranked teams on the 2025 Trials CMDR as of December 9, 2024.   If a team declines an awarded berth to the 2025 MDCT, the declined berth will be awarded to the next highest ranked team on the CMDR in the year the berth was declined. 2023/24 CMDR for the 2023/24 season berths.2025 Trials CMDR for the 2024/25 season berths.
ELIGIBILITY:All athletes/teams must be registered as a team on the 2025 Trials CMDR by the August 1, 2024 registration deadline and meet all of the Mixed Doubles eligibility requirements listed HERE.   2025 CMDT Athlete Replacement Policy   Prior to December 9, 2024, if an athlete loses their registered partner due to illness, injury or parental leave after they have already accepted a berth into the CMDT, they will be permitted to select a new partner and retain their MDCT berth provided their new partner is on a 4-person team ranked in the Top-10 on the 2023/24 CTRS or ranked Top-32 on the 2023/24 CMDR.   After the August 1, 2024 CMDR registration deadline, if an athlete who hasn’t qualified for the 2025 MDCT loses their registered partner due to illness, injury or parental leave they will be permitted to select a new eligible partner. Their new 2025 Trials CMDR ranking will be updated to reflect the new lineup.   After December 9, 2024, if an athlete loses a registered partner due to illness, injury or parental leave before the event begins, they will be permitted to select a new eligible partner provided their new 2025 Trials CMDR ranking remains ahead of the next highest ranked team not qualified for the 2025 MDCT.   In all other cases, an athlete must compete with their registered partner or they will not be eligible to compete in the 2025 MDCT. Their 2025 MDCT berth will be awarded to the next highest ranked registered team on the 2025 Trials CMDR.
