Holland Suits Up for Team North America

Amber Holland faced a formidable challenge in the final of the 2011 Scotties Tournament of Hearts last February in Charlottetown, going up against Team Canada’s Jennifer Jones in her shot at a fourth consecutive title.

The Saskatchewan team had been sharp all week, putting together an eight-game winning streak in round robin play on the way to the championship match. In a classic finish, Holland stole a clutch single in the tenth to claim her first Scotties crown after three previous attempts. The victory moved the team on to the 2011 Capital One World Women’s Curling Championship where they won silver… and also earned a coveted spot on the Team North America roster for the 2012 World Financial Group Continental Cup of Curling. Holland will be joined in the Langley Events Centre January 12 – 15 by Kim Schneider, Tammy Schneider and Heather Kalenchuk – a crew that’s been together on the competitive circuit since 2005. “You Gotta Be There” when Team North America takes on Team World in the eighth edition of this unique international event.  Click here to get your tickets now.
