Hey, curling fans! Have we got a contest for YOU!

Hey curling fans, it was a great 2012-13 season, both on and off the ice! On the ice, Canadian teams hit the podium six times — SIX TIMES! — in world championship play. Off the ice, we had a great time at our Season of Champions events in Penticton, B.C. (the World Financial Group Continental Cup, presented by Monsanto), Fort McMurray, Alta. (the M&M Meat Shops Canadian Junior Championships), Kingston, Ont. (the Scotties Tournament of Hearts), Edmonton (the Tim Hortons Brier, presented by Monsanto) and Victoria (the Ford World Men’s Championship, presented by Booster Juice), saw a lot of familiar faces and made a lot of new fans, too. Curling fans are the greatest! Our year was just as rewarding in cyberspace! Our Facebook page has been blowing up — we’re closing in on 11,000 fans! — and you can’t get enough of us on Twitter, either, with more than 7,100 followers! So to say thanks to our fans, we’ve got a couple great contests lined up! First of all, we’re going draw, at random, three names from our Facebook fans and Twitter followers and give away autographed brooms that feature the signatures of players at either the Scotties, Brier or Men’s Worlds. That draw will be made this week, and the winners will be notified as soon as possible. We have three more brooms — one each from the Scotties, the Tim Hortons Brier and Ford Worlds — to give away to the winners of a contest that challenges you to take a unique picture this summer that features an element of curling. A broom. A rock. The CCA logo (click here for a printable version). Use your imagination!!!! We’ll show off your pictures over the summer in our Facebook gallery (click here to see some samples), and pick three winners on Sept. 2! Email your pictures to: [email protected]. Please put the words “Summer curling photo contest” in the subject line. You can also enter a picture via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #CCABROOM.
