Awards handed out at University curling championships

Awards were handed out on Saturday night to outstanding curlers at the 2014 CIS/CCA University Curling Championships in Regina, Sask. The list of award winners is included below. CIS/CCA 2014 Sportsmanship awards were handed out to third Jane DiCarlo of the University of PEI Panthers and third Evan Asmussen of the University of Alberta Golden Bears. The 2014 National Coaching award were presented to Memorial University’s Jeff Thomas (men’s) and University of PEI’s Paul Smith (women’s). The 2014 All-Canadian Second Team Women’s awards went to lead Ashley Nordin of Thompson Rivers University, second Lynn Kreviazuk of Carleton University, third Keely Brown of University of Alberta, and skip Carly Howard of Wilfrid Laurier.

The CIS/CCA Curling Championships will be played today. Women’s game has University of Alberta Pandas taking on the Carleton University Ravens at 1:30 p.m. CST. In the men’s Final the University of Manitoba Bisons will be taking on the University of Alberta Golden Bears at 5:00 p.m CST. Games can be watched live streaming on cis-sic.tv
