FOR THE LOVE OF CURLING SCHOLARSHIP
The For the Love of Curling Scholarship is intended for young Canadian curling student-athletes who excel in curling, maintain a good level of academic standing, and demonstrate a strong commitment to their community through involvement in coaching, instructing, and other volunteer activities. The purpose is to give talented junior curling student-athletes the support to pursue their curling and academic dreams.
Ten For the Love of Curling Scholarships will be awarded to curling student-athletes who best demonstrate athletic and academic prowess as well as community leadership.
FRAN TODD ALL HEART SCHOLARSHIP
The Fran Todd All Heart Scholarship is intended for young Canadian curling student-athletes who embody the values of curling, place the highest priority on giving back to the sport, are passionate about sharing curling with their community, and maintain a good level of academic standing. The purpose is to give compassionate junior curling student-athletes the support to pursue their academic and community volunteer impact dreams.
Ten Fran Todd All Heart Scholarships will be awarded to curling student athletes who best demonstrate volunteer and community leadership to create meaningful change through sport.
- Eighteen of the twenty Scholarships are valued at $2,500
- The two remaining scholarships, which are “funded & presented by the Governor General’s Curling Club,” are valued at $3,500
Founded in 1874, the Governor General’s Curling Club is an honorary society under the patronage of the Governor General of Canada that recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the sport of curling.

NEAVE ALDERSON
Fran Todd All Heart Scholarship“Curling gave me something I never thought I could have again: a sport where I can be active, fully included, and genuinely welcomed. Before curling, I often felt like I was on the outside looking in, but this sport offered me a way to be a part of something bigger than myself without limitations or barriers. It has given me the chance to grow not only as an athlete but also as a person, teaching me resilience, teamwork, and confidence.”

For the Love of Curling ScholarshipI had amazing role models who showed me what was possible in our sport, without them I wouldn’t have thought it was possible to dream as big as I have. This makes it very personal for me, I want to show young curlers that it is ok to dream big and that anything is possible! I will keep doing everything I can to be a good role model to inspire young curlers the same way I was inspired when“I was younger.”

I commit so many hours to curling, and receiving this scholarship means so much to me. I have been fortunate to meet my best friends through curling, and the most important people in my life.”

Everywhere you go, whether it's a practice, game, or a tournament, you’re welcomed by a community of volunteers, teammates, family and friends. No matter where you are in a club the love for the game shines on the ice, behind the glass and even in the timekeepers' chairs. You can compete hard on the ice but you still laugh together off the ice. You play against your friends, past teammates and new faces. It doesn’t matter how intense a game gets, respect and integrity come first. That's what makes curling so special.”
