Mixed Doubles
CANADIAN MIXED DOUBLES RANKINGS Explained
Canadian Mixed Doubles Rankings (CMDR) team points will be accumulated as below for the 2019/2020 season:
- June 1, 2018 – May 31, 2019 – 75% value carried over from each player’s best three mixed doubles point’s events.
- June 1, 2019 – May 1, 2020 – mixed doubles teams best seven results from either mixed doubles events and/or CTRS events. Only three CTRS point events will count. (CTRS points will be added to the CMDR starting January 1, 2020. They will include points from June 1, 2019 – May 1, 2020 and are individually based)
- A player is allowed to earn 50% of a team’s CMDR points if playing with another partner at an event.
Team eligibility to qualify by CMDR points for the 2020 Canadian Mixed Doubles Championships:
- Each player must have competed in a minimum of two of the listed Sanctioned, Tier, Other or Provincial listed events.
How to accumulate points:
- Curling Canada Sanctioned Mixed Doubles Events
- ISS World Mixed Doubles Curling Tour Events
- Other Mixed Doubles Events (listed)
- Provincial or Territorial Playdowns
- Canadian Mixed Doubles Championship
- World Mixed Doubles Championship
- CTRS – points given will be 1/4 of a players traditional teams points
Bonus:
For players who currently do not have 12 months of carding from Sport Canada.
The top 2 ranked players on the CMDR as at December 23, 2019 will receive 4 or 6 months of carding from Sport Canada effective January 1, 2020.
In order for 2020 Tiered events to count towards CMDR points, the event must be registered with the ISS World Mixed Doubles Curling Tour prior to December 15, 2019.
Tier 1 – Curling Canada Sanctioned Mixed Doubles Events
- Canad Inns Classic, Qualico Communities Mixed Doubles Classic, Brantford Mixed Doubles Cashspiel, Others TBD
- 1st– 46 points
- 2nd– 38 points.
- 3rd& 4th– 32 points.
- 5th– 8th– 26 points.
- Non qualifying teams – 3 points per win.
Tier 2 – ISS World Mixed Doubles Curling Tour Events
- Event entry fee must be greater than or equal to $400. Minimum 16 team field.
- 1st– 32 points.
- 2nd– 26 points.
- 3rd& 4th– 20 points.
- 5th– 8th– 16 points.
- Non qualifying teams – 2.0 points per win
Tier 3 – ISS World Mixed Doubles Curling Tour Events
- Event entry fee must be greater than or equal to $250. Minimum 16 team field.
- 1st– 24 points.
- 2nd– 20 points.
- 3rd& 4th– 16 points.
- 5th– 8th– 12 points.
Tier 4 – ISS World Mixed Doubles Curling Tour Events
- Event entry fee must be greater than or equal to $100. Minimum 16 team field.
- 1st– 18 points.
- 2nd– 14 points.
- 3rd& 4th– 11 points.
- 5th– 8th– 8 points

- 1st– 28 points
- 2nd– 22 points
- 3rd– 19 points

- Minimum 12 team’s entered to compete for a Championship, which includes regional/zone competitions.

- 2nd– 24 points
- 3rd– page playoff – 20 points
- 4th– page playoff – 16 points (3rd& 4th– 18 points)
- 5th– 8th– 14 points
Provincial/Territorial Championships
- Less than 12 team’s entered to compete for a Championship.
- 1st– 16 points
- 2nd– 12 points
- 3rd– page playoff – 8 points
