Manitoba wins Canadian Mixed title in front of hometown crowd

Manitoba’s Colin Kurz and his team from the Assiniboine Memorial Curling Club scored early and protected its lead to win the 2019 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship. The 21-year-old skip bested Nova Scotia’s Kendal Thompson (Mayflower Curling Club) 7-4 in the final.

The Friday night entertainment at the 2019 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship in Winnipeg is a Manitoba Social. Manitobans will be jubilant to share their tradition with Canada’s other provinces and territories at the championship in the Fort Rouge Curling Club and there’s extra cause for celebration considering Colin Kurz’s hometown team locked up a spot in the playoffs.

Championship pool seedings becoming more clear at 2019 Canadian Mixed

The field is becoming more clear after seven completed draws at the 2019 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship at Winnipeg’s Fort Rouge Curling Club. Saskatchewan and Ontario lead their respective pools as the only undefeated teams, but plenty of others are hot on their tails as teams attempt to qualify for the Championship Pool and have an opportunity to make the playoffs. The round robin will conclude on Wednesday evening.
